Tomorrow my friends and I will be going to the Warrnambool Show With Janet. Some people are going for Chess and some people are going for Choir. I am going for Chess. I am really excited for going to the Warrnambool Show 🙂 And today I am going to Brauer Collage for an extra transition 🙂

Our Inquiry topic this term is how can we become active citizens who contribute to the global world?

These are our contributing questions:

-How do individuals have a say in Government?

-What are the different levels of Government?

-How do Governments make decisions?

Key Understandings:

-Political parties can have different policies

-Laws are created and then voted on in Parliament

-Voters can be influenced by various influences Citizens can make a positive change to the world

I am looking forward to researching this topic! 🙂

On the holidays I hardly did anything because I was sick with a virus. I went to the movies twice to see Smurfs 2 and Turbo and that was about it. On the first week my cousin came down from Tasmania his name is Zac. 🙂

On Tuesday the 10th of September Matt Porter came to our school. We had to do a writers workshop with him it was really fun. We got to play game Shows, we had a host for the game shows the host was Sheridan we had to call her Mrs Jackpot. We had to cheer and hi five Sheridan as she made an entrance through the door. Then we played some games we had to play a game where there was a list of words and we all had to order them from the most boring to the most exciting then Alexander had to come in and guess them he only got two wrong. Then Millie got up and said thanks for coming. After everybody left some people stayed behind to buy a book that he wrote called Mr Jackpot And The Stash Of Cash and I bought one.

Last term kids from Warrnambool East, Port Fairy Consolidated and Merrivale came together to write a script for the Play It Again Production. Every Tuesday the script writers would meet at at Brauer College to write and give ideas for the script. We did that for nearly the whole term. During the holdays we got to put our say in on the computer. The next term we got together for the last time to read over the final script. After the final script was made people started to try out for parts in the play. When the people got picked for the parts in the play they started to practice with the directors. They practiced and practiced until it got really good for public and school performances. On the 5th of September our school got to watch the performance it was really good. That very night I went again to the play to watch it with my family and went to the after party. I am really tired today because I got home at about 10.15 and got to sleep at 10.30. I enjoyed seeing the play I am really happy that the script that I helped write turned out great.

In art we had to make a leaf pot. We cut out leaf shapes out of clay and then stuck them together. After they got set we got to paint them the next week I painted mine turquoise and purple with colourful dots on the bottom. I enjoyed making my leaf pot!!!

On Monday the whole school had to do a science activity. Everybody got put into groups with a teacher my group was with Mrs Allender. Before we got started Mrs Allender read us a story called Who Sank The Boat then we had to pick a partner my partners name was Phoebe. We got given a sheet of paper we had to predict if the objects we got given would sink or float. My partner and I got most of our predictions right we got a few wrong but it didn’t matter we still had fun! There was two coke cans a diet coke and a regular coke the regular coke sank to the bottom of the water and the diet coke floated I think the diet coke floated because it had less sugar in it. After the sink and float activity we had to do one last thing we had to make a boat out of aluminium foil and see how many marbles could fit in without our boat sinking pour boat held 11 marbles!

Yesterday on the 31st of July the M.P of wannon, Dan Tehan came to our school. We had to ask him a lot of questions about his job. This was the second time he has came to our school the first time he came he presented us with a new flag. It was very interesting having Dan Tehan come again.

Yesterday we watched a vidio on youtube about time lapsing. They would take heaps of photos of people opening and closing windows in sinc. They would then put all the photos together and speed them up and slow them down to make it look really awesome. I loved watching it it was really interesting.

On the holidays I went to the movies to see despsicible me 2 and monsters university. On the second week of the holidays Telicia came to my house for a sleepover we just hanged out randomly. The rest of the holidays i just chilled at home and didn’t do much at all. 🙂
